Salonaires to read July 21, Ada, OK at ECU

July 20, 2009

I want to thank everyone for all the posts on the Indian fast-pitch tournaments going on around Oklahoma Indian Country. That news comes to us here at Miko Kings’ blogsite via Joe Bohanan, and Jay Watson, both Choctaws are active in the league.  They’re also some of the best coaches around!  I can’t wait for Tuskahoma tourney at Red Warrior Park on the grounds of the Choctaw Nation this coming Labor Day.  I hope to see you all there.

This just in:

Some of the Salon Ada writers and storytellers are reading July 21, 2009, 6-8 p.m. in the ESTEP Auditorium on the campus of  East Central University. ESTEP Auditorium is in the University Center building on the east side of the south end of the campus just inside the tennis courts (across from the Baptist Student Union). You can park in lots on 13th street in Ada.

Authors and storytellers to read are: Oklaoma poet Ken Hada; Choctaw-Chickasaw poet and songwriter Phil Morgan; Oklahoma poet Sandra Soli, Chickasaw storyteller Lorie Robins; historian and Choctaw memoirist Jacki Rand; creative non-fiction writer Jim Wilson, and me100_1501. Pictured above are some of the writers from June’s Salon Ada. They are [pictured far right to left] Lara Mann, Sandra Soli, Ken Hada, Chad Allen, Jim Wilson, and Daniel Justice.
