For Your Afternoon Listening Pleasure

February 3, 2008

We are a small outfit yet, so it’s doubtful that you will learn of this in time through us. But it makes us a little giddy to know that WNYC’s Jonathan Schwartz plays an hour of baseball themed music and clips of old games during his show on Super Bowl Sunday. If you’re lucky enough, you can listen here. If not, The Joy of Sox has provided an equally enticing playlist here for while you avoid the pregame of Tom Brady and The Ankle and all that talk of Perfection. (To locate, we write from the crossroads of Cardinals and Cubsland. Yeah, yeah, total lunar eclipse. Yeah, yeah, the Goat.)

Of note: a recording of Lawrence Ferlinghetti reading “Baseball Canto” on Bob Dylan’s Theme Time Radio Hour.
