Hey Leanne,

I just wanted to say that it was an honour to meet you and hear you talk about Shell Shaker. It was very interesting to hear what you had to say, I am the student who asked you about Redford McAlester and whether or not he was rooted in truth or fiction. I am glad that he is no longer in power and is in jail where he belongs, but mostly I am happy that no drastic measures had to be taken!. Anyhow, I just wanted to say again how much I enjoyed reading your novel, and I can't wait to read the new one.

Cheers,

George

I love your "woman to woman" moment. Finding Joy on your blog makes me long for the night when we all posed for old-time photos in Deadwood, instead of going to hear Annie Proulx read. John and I were in Deadwood a few weeks ago and crossed paths with Susan Powers. What a wonderful woman she is too! I had many "woman to woman" moments on the river trip the end of August and thought of you then, as well, wishing you'd been along.

Leandra Yellowfish informed me yesterday that the Seminole Nation Festival Fastpitch Tourney has been canceled again. She advised that at this point she is unsure if they will be able to reschedule it again this year because of the time of year and teams being unable to come back again as this is the 3rd weekend it has been canceled. If I hear anymore about it I will update the info on it.

Hi Jay:

The next time you see me, I'll be wearing one of those terrific ball game shirts! I'm going to put up a picture, too! I recently gave an academic talk at Washington and Lee University in Virginia about how ancient Choctawans developed the root game of base and ball, about 4000 thousand years ago. It's from the book Lara Mann and I are working on. There were other academics in the audience and I was surprised by their interest and acceptance, as far as my research goes. Will see what happens next.

Let me try this again. I lost my earlier comment somehow,,LeAnne it was great to see you and Jim at the "Uprising" at Tushkahoma,,and was certainly nice to meet Jacki Rand. I hope to hear Jim's musical styling in the near future and that is a great pic of him and Jacki. We have about 2 more tourneys and then we are done for the year. Tell Lara Mann we said hello and hope to see you guys in the near future. Tell Jacki the next shirt we win is hers..lol....
