News flash: Sent to us via Professor Robert Parker at Illinois, ancient Maya ball courts are much older than previously thought. I predict that indigenous ball teams in the North and South America are at least a couple of thousand years old and very diverse. Baseball teams were around as early as Lewis and Clark’s Discovery Corps adventures in 1805 and the Nez Pearce put the men of the Discovery Corps on different native teams as a sign of sportsmanship.
